Hello everyone. Today is my 2 week vegan anniversary! I decided to go vegan "cold turkey" (or "cold [insert vegan food name here]", whichever you prefer) for health reasons after reading The China Study. I am currently in good health and don't have any extra weight to lose, but so many diseases run in my family that I want to do everything I can to stay as healthy as possible. I was so excited to read The Kind Diet and found it to be a great resource. I didn't start this diet for environmental or animal protection reasons but Alicia's book really opened up my eyes to these issues as well. I hope that I can get some tips and make some vegan friends on this site!
Making the switch to veganism has been fine so far for me...no temptations or slip-ups yet. I had a much harder time making the switch to an organic diet about 5 months ago...my tummy was mad at me for several weeks! :-)
Anyway, I look forward to meeting new people and learning more about my new diet! Thanks!
