New to veganism and excited! Looking for support and have questions regarding weight loss and veganism.
Hey I'm in Seattle too and moving toward veganism (no "land" meat and no dairy as of now, but still fish on occasion when in awkward social situations). Plan to phase out the fish, but for now just doing "land" meat and dairy is something I feel strongly about thanks to Alicia's book!
P.S. There's a bunch of cool vegan/veggie restaurants in the U-District. I haven't checked them out yet, but am looking forward to it! You can search it on Yelp I think for vegan restaurants. If you try something and like it, let me know! I know the Elysian in Capitol Hill has a lot of vegetarian dishes that without cheese are easily vegan. Anyways, welcome!

Hey ladies! I am also from Seattle! I am currently "flirting" because I'm trying to slowly get into the habit of making vegan food but I'm trying to make vegan food more than anything else food but it takes time for me. I'm looking forward to making some "support" contacts!
Nice to meet you. Not in Seattle but it's nice to see you on here nonetheless.
Marisa that's awesome! I'm totally down. I've already been getting lots of question from people and its nice to have support on here to help "stay strong" in the face of criticism. I'm feeling very strong on why I'm making the choices I am, but it still helps to keep it going :)
Amy - thanks for the links. I absolutely love Portland and originally I had tried to move there when I came out here 3 years ago. Work has brought me to Seattle and I still adore both places. What's your favorite restaurants up here?
-Jules
Oh wow thanks! Yes I had been meaning to try the vegan pizza place, chaco canyon, and wayward cafe. I will have to check out the others as well. I'm excited to check out Sidecar for Pigs Peace! I can't imagine what fun things you can find in a store like that :)

Chaco canyon is so good! kind of pricey for tiny sandwiches but good for days when you dont wanna cook, I recommend it!
check out the portland blog!
Ooh thanks for the suggestion! Through a Seattle vegan blog I found a way to volunteer with the Sidecar for Pigs Peace Sanctuary. They're having a vegan bake sales on December 12-13 so I'm going to donate a vegan marionberry pie and my favorite vegan cookies. It's a start!
Amy - thanks for the recommendation on Sidecars for Pigs Peace. It was closed when I walked by on my way somewhere else but it was late, but now that I know that it's there I can't wait to check it out :)
