Congrats everyone! I got on the scale this morning and was below 200lbs for the first time in years. I've lost about 10lbs since I started this a month ago yesterday!

That's great, Ron! I agree with you, Zen Bohemian, I have not had to worry about how much I eat! I have taken out most of the sugar - cooking with fruits - now use agave and honey for sweeteners. It's fantastic. I have also been drinking the weight loss tea every morning. Don't know if you are supposed to do this, but I made a big batch and reheat it in the morning. It's easier to do it this way due to my work schedule and young son. My mornings are very hectic. I love being a vegan!

I'm the same with dairy. I get bloated and gassy. I recently bought the soymilk Alicia recommended by Edensoy and I noticed as I'm cutting out the dairy its getting better. I'm still constipated alot though. I can't figure this one out. I eat alot of grains and drink alot of water.

Amy and Zen, I'm the same way. Instead of soymilk, I am addicted to organic almond milk. My son just loves the stuff. I even make my version of vanilla milk for him to drink. I put a drop of vanilla extract, some agave syrup and unsweetened almond milk. He LOVES it.

It is great, since I got the book and started transitionning more seriously (about two weeks ago), I lost about 6 lbs! Since I'm transitionning, my eating habits haven't yet gotten to where I would like them to be, but I've noticed that if I do wind up having dairy, it usually triggers a very nasty lactose intolerance reaction, since I've started cutting it out seriously. I was lactose intolerant before, but boy does it ever make me sick now!

yeah, ditch the dairy!! its disgusting!! ive been a vegan for two years and i cant beleive there was time i ever putany animal product into my mouth. i feel so ashamed i cant take back the lives i took...but now that we know the truth we owe it to the animals and to our bodies to keep spreading the word..and losing the weight..and the diseases and the bloating..haa

I agree with everyone here! Ditch the dairy- it just blows my mind that we are the only species still drinking mother's milk in to adulthood. And what cows go through to make that milk just makes me so sad!! I'm loving my almond milk and vegan cheese. :)
