Hello everyone,
My husband and I have been saving dogs in our neighborhood for the last year or so. We live in a poorer area of town and dogs are used more as security systems than as pets. And a lot of people let their dogs run loose in the streets so there's a lot of run over dogs and dog fighting.
Our latest rescue was actually picked up from an animal shelter- she was going to be euthanized the next day!
To put it succinctly: she's under 2 years old, spayed, female, sharpei mix, friendly, vaccinated, hardly ever barks, sweetest sad eyes, and slightly submissive. Good on a leash. Was a stray. Tested positive for heartworms. We're having a fundraiser to get her treated for the h.w. If anyone knows someone in Dallas that is looking for a great dog--- give them my email: amanda.selvarajan@att.net

I'm in Chicago so I can't help you out, and have my own foster that I'm looking to place, but I just had to give you a shout out for all of the animal work that you do. Sounds like you and your husband are absolute angels to the dogs in your neighborhood...thank you.
