I have been to Whole Foods and an international grocery store and cannot get my hands on umeboshi vinegar. Is there another type of vinegar that will taste somewhat similar that is easy to find? Thanks. Whoops I spelled umeboshi wrong in the title and now I can't figure out how to go back and fix it! Sorry!

Hi Heather,

I live in a very remote area that is not health friendly, but I was able to order a lot of the exotic (non-refrigerated) items, such as the vinegar on www.vitacost.com :-) I buy ALOT of stuff from them and they are very reasonably priced (including their shipping)

Hope that helps :-)

I couldn't find it locally either, so I ordered from www.edenfoods.com.

I found umeboshi Plum vinegar at Whole Foods (with all the other oil and vinegars) and have been using that, since umeboshi comes from the umeboshi plum. It taste really good and has just a hint of plum flavor to it.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Having trouble finding it here in the Toronto area, too. Today I went to Whole Foods and even they didn't have it!

In a couple of weeks I will head to Chinatown, where I certainly expect to locate it!

Lisa,

Thanks for the info on Eden foods. I did not know about their website. Looks like they have A LOT of the hard to get items on there :-) Can't wait to try them!
