i've read a few articles online that talk about this stuff being delicious? has anyone here ever tried it? what is it?
Yes it is!
"Nooch" is the affectionate term for Nutritional Yeast, which is not only a natural source of B-Vitamins, fiber, and protein, but is also a delicious way to add a nutty, cheesy flavor to dishes. Popular recipes that usually call for nooch are vegan mac and cheese and tofu scramble, but it's also amazing as a parmesan alternative on top of pasta or in pasta dishes. One of my favorite vegan recipes that uses nooch is Bryanna Clark Grogan's Breast of Tofu, which you can find on her website - www.bryannaclarkgrogan.com. I like to make a gravy out of the tofu marinade by heating the marinade in a small pot and adding some Earth Balance and cornstarch to it. Yum!

Ohh neat! Yeah I'm a major popcorn-lover and read somewhere that it was good on top of it! Where do you buy this stuff at? and what section, spices?
I love nurtitional yeast! It is fabulous over popcorn for sure. I also have a recipe for vegan "french toast" that uses nutritional yeast as a part of the egg batter substitution. That is seriously tasty.
It can be very hard to find. My food coo-op has it in both the bulk section (in flakes and granulated) as well as the Bragg's brand, which I found in the baking goods section. That one is in a shaker container just like parmesan cheese comes in. Good luck!
