Hi there!

I'm Michael, 32 and I live in Germany.

I'll order Alicia's book after christmas. I actually started changing my life. A few weeks ago, I stopped smoking, but I have to change a lot of things else (just for me). I hope Alicia's Book can help me finding "The kind life".

My English isn't that good anymore, didn't need a lot of years in the past.
Please be tolerant.

Thanks Alicia!

Hi everyone. I'm a newly vegan college student from Michigan. I too became a vegetarian after reading Skinny Bitch but after reading The Kind Life I'm full on vegan. Loved the book!!

Hey Jason and Everyone!

My name is Whitney. I have begun my vegan journey once again. I started last year and wasn't ready as I feel out of the diet. However, now after meeting many wonderful people and going to The Natural Gourmet Institute in NYC I have decided I can take on a full fledged vegan lifestyle. I am finally feeling happy and as if I have found my niche in the world. Anyway, I love to bake gluten free vegan goodies. I will be posting pictures and such!

Nice to meet all of you

Best
Whit

Hi Abby

Thanks for your response. I was back in my local Farm to Market yesterday & had a better look around.... I found the the Daikon & Umeboshi plums! The plums are not cheap though ($16 for a very small pack). Its such a great store...I realised I can purchase virtually everything I need there, its organic AND its my local co-op too (much cheaper than Whole Foods).

Rachel... yes, good luck with persuading your boy-friend. I am lucky...this whole thing pretty much started because my boyfriend announced he could not in good conscience continue to eat meat, except for humanely raise & handled meat. The more we researched, the more we realised, our best bet was to boycott animal products entirely & it brought us to Alicia's book.... its just early days for us...about 2 weeks now.... but we both feel so many benefits.... not to mention weight loss & already seeing improvements in skin.... yey! Although....it is still me doing all the cooking (some things never change!)

Happy Christmas

Hi! My name is Tammy and I live in Iowa- I read "skinny bitch" as well about a year ago and started going meatless 5 days a week which was an accomplishment for my meat eating husband and four sons to tolerate! I read Alicias book this last two weeks and I am ready! My hubby is very supportive of my journey- I am waiting until the holiday is over- then I am planning to transition myself and work some of my menu into my hubbys and kids menus- I know that I need to be healthier and lighter (much lighter). Alicias book is so inspiring and honestly just tells you exactly what you need to know- I loved it!
I am happy to have read it and hope to learn much more and make some new friends here too.
Merry Christmas!

Hi my name is Melissa & I'm from Sydney, Australia. I have been vego for 23 years & vegan for 4 years now. My reason for becoming vegetarian then vegan is through my love of animals & animal rights.
I haven't read the book but I love the idea of this cruelty free/kinder living networking site. It's so great to meet like-minded people.
Merry Christmas from Down Under :)

Hi!
My name is Staci and I'm from Seattle, WA. Not quite a vegan, though I've made it for 2 complete months, but I am sticking my toe in it so I think I'm more of a vegetarian currently. My family is not supportive of my veganism desiring, and current vegetarian eating, ways so I feel very alone at the moment. Thank goodness for vegan/vegetarian sites online, like this one, so I don't go crazy! lol!
Thank you Alicia for creating this site as well as writing the book. I got a copy yesterday as a Christmas gift and am glad I can stop drooling over book reviews on Amazon to tide me over! lol! Book looks good so far and I think I might be giving it as a gift to some people I know.
Hello all!

Hi I am Gina I have been a vegetarian for several years. It has gotten WAY easier finding foods. Many restaurants now have veggie burgers that did not know what meat- free is at one point. It is still hard at times. I want to be vegan but I feel like milk/ eggs and other animal products find its way into many things you may not think. Like many I plan to start the new year healthier. I am hoping advice from wonderful people like you can keep me on track. I got the no meat thing down- I just bought a PETA shirt that says MEAT SUCKS. Very true but cheese, sugars and other not so healthy things is what I need work on. Good luck to everyone else! Think about the animals!

Hello, my name is Tedra and I am in the process of trying the Kind Diet out. I never thought about not eating meat until I read Alicia's book. She really opened my eyes to a lot of things. Plus the fact that I'm sluggish, fat and anxious. I want something better for my life. And want to be around for my family. I was wondering where I needed to start but after reading some of the post I'll just find a couple recipts to try and go from there. I've never gone meatless so this will be interesting but I'm sure the more I do it the better I'll feel. I've already made some changes like switching from skim to Almond Milk or egg substitute. so now we'll see where taking it all the way will get me. I look forward to posting my results and reading more inspiring stories.

Hi All!
My name is Maggie, and I am from northern Illinois. I have been a vegetarian for 12+ years, and today is the day I am finally going vegan!! I have thought about becoming vegan for a long time, but have a love affair with cheese and buttercream frosting. I received Alicia's book yesterday, as a Christmas gift, and couldn't put it down all night. It was the push I needed to finally make a change, both for myself and for the well-being of all creatures on Earth.
My family and friends (with the exception of one of my brothers and my boyfriend) are not supportive of my vegetarianism, so I can imagine they will not be supportive of a vegan lifestyle as well. However, I hope all the benefits of a compassionate lifestyle will shine through and my words will no longer fall flat with them. Plus, I am hoping that my boyfriend, too, will see the advantages of this lifestyle and shortly follow suit.
Anyhow, good luck to all you new vegans, vegetarians and those of you who are starting to make small changes! And congratulations to those of you who have already been successful in achieving a vegan or superhero lifestyle. I hope, soon, I will be one of you as well :-)
Maggie
