I recently tried Telepan on the UWS. It's a great restaurant for a very nice meal. A friend of mine told me they were very vegan friendly even though it's not a vegan restaurant. I called and inquired and they confirmed that absolutely they could accommodate me as everything is made to order and they pride themselves on fresh, local produce. It was truly amazing. The server made me so comfortable and helped me to navigate the menu telling me they could either make a special meal based on what I like or tweak a menu item to make it vegan. He always made a special point of telling me when something was served that it was vegan option and at the beginning when they did a special taste from the chef as well as the complimentary sweet at the end, I was given a vegan treat that in my opinion looked much better than my dining companions. Try it!!!
