Pres Obama pardoned Courage the Turkey today and now Courage will now live the rest of his life at Disney. It's a start and one more turkey who will be unharmed ... wishing you all a very thankful day tomorrow!

Wishing more turkeys could be "pardoned." Please take a look at my vegan thanksgiving poem: http://ipandaud.blogspot.com/2009/11/freebirds-and-fancy-feasts.html

Others who are the only vegetarians in their family must understand! We carry a heavy and lonely burden. Let's keep supporting one another (and saving turkeys)!

I watched the Turkey fest on tv..and couldnt help but think that it was hippocritical to stop one itty bitty turkeys death..yet wars continue.. and how many americans and others are dying overseas. According to the news lately..it would have been easy for that turkey to slip past the secret service anyways and make its escape!smiley-cool.gif

yeah, and then he ate another one with his family that day. i dont mean to be cynical but it is so hypocritical and illogical and like gary francione says, we seriously suffer from "moral schizophrenia"....

Moral schizophrenia? That doesn't make sense. Did he mean moral dissociative identity disorder? Doesn't quite have the same ring. I know too much about mental health hehe.
I really hope he didn't have turkey the next day, especially not without thinking about just how wrong that would be. I don't think turkey's not big here luckily for them.
I think any animal saved is a good thing. I don't think it can be compared to people fighting wars. The solders are also able to make their own choices turkeys can't speak up or fend for themselves when kept in captivity. And even a small step is a great step. :)
