From Blake - This is a question that I guess would fall under the environment category: Should I donate of recycle my microwave? What would be most eco-friendly?

Im thinking that you could kill 2 birds with one stone... store the microwave in the corner so that it will take up 1 foot of space or so...and much like keeping a full freezer for optimum efficiency..im guessing you will have one less foot of space to heat!
Ok thats twisted logic... but good question ..what to do with a microwave that doesnt work..hmmm...
I think hitachi had the best idea for recycling appliances where they strip them of insulation, refigerants etc..then roll them down a line and cascade liquid nitrogen onto them and then shatter them with an ultrasonic blast. That just sounds kind of fun. We could do more here in that respect since the likely answer would be to toss it in the dumpster.

Thank you Bill. I enjoyed your sense of humor. The microwave was actually working fine. I donated that and my space heater to the local church. Thank you.smiley-cool.gif
