Just wanted to say thank you to Alicia for her book...I bought it a few days ago the same day i did the grocery shopping for my family's annual Thanksgiving meal, which was at my house this year.....started reading it as I was defrosting the turkey and making the sausage stuffing and ended up crying through the whole turkey-preparing process.....told my family they are responsible for eating the leftovers because after finishing up the book last night I am going Vegan (with hopes of going Superhero once I learn to cook a little better.....).....thank you, Alicia, for a beautiful book and beautiful recipes.....I'm making the couscous tonight for me while everyone else has leftovers......looking forward to your next cookbook for all us new Kind Life-ers out there (we can talk you into doing one, right?)........thank you also for having this website, I tried to go vegetarian once before but it was a struggle due to lack of support and community and now there is somewhere to go! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and GOODBYE TO TURKEY AS A MEAL!!!..........

That's great! I too just read Alicia's wonderful book last week - and went meatless over the holiday, to my family's shock.

The meatless turned out not to be too hard - I had been feeling for a few years that I disliked feeling 'weighed down' after a meal.... what I have not done yet is quit dairy. I LOVE milk. I'm scared to break up with it :)
