At various times throughout my life, I, like many I'm sure, have felt despairing of the state of the world... the violence, the cruelty, the declining environment. I have wished that I could do SOMETHING to help change these things. And then I've shrugged it off.... one person can't change the world, I'd think.

And here comes Alicia with this fabulous book... teaching, nurturing, and encouraging kindness to ourselves, animals, and the planet. I truly believe that a book like this can have global impact... as more people discover it and discover their Superhero Selves... as they teach others about veganism.... as they spread kindness.....maybe, maybe someday veganism will be the norm, and eating meat will be the rarity.

Things CAN change - in one generation. I think about littering. I tell my kids now that, when I was a kid, everyone - EVERYONE - threir trash out the window while driving. Not just horrible people... everyone. It was the norm. No-one thought anything of it. It wasn't until the 70s that 'litter' and 'pollution' became recognizable words and concepts. And now, I think we'd all feel pretty shocked if the guy in front of us threw his trash out the window. So maybe one day my kids will tell THEIR kids that, back when they were young, most people ate meat. And maybe their kids will be shocked.

I think it could happen. Thanks, Alicia.
