On day 5! and no sign of stopping

Hi All!
I'm on day 5 of clean vegan eating and feel amazing. I sleep better, and wake up feeling ALIVE instead of sluggish, tired, and hazy. It's like my body has opened up. Even tho I am 30 lbs overweight and out of shape, my body feels like it has been stretched/relaxed and is just.....looser....as if I've done a yoga class (but I haven't.)
The reason for flirting with veganism is.....healthy for myself and the planet. I watched Food INC recently, and also read the book "Overcoming Overeating" by Dr. Kessler. He basically breaks down how salt, fat and sugar can be addicting and how the 'food' industry plays into that addiction. It just grosses me out to hear food referred to as "products". Food is food and I'm trying to eat whole foods. The "treat" foods I used to enjoy, no longer make me feel good....they make me feel icky....sickly and lethargic. If I fill up on good stuff, I don't want the bad stuff!!

Just an update - on day 12 of being vegan! woo hoo!!!
No signs of stopping :) I feel good. I sleep better and wake up better. It has been a fun surprise...this is easier than I thought.

yeah.. the processed foods make me feel sick now, and they don't even taste good. i remember when having a snickers bar was like a religious experience.. now it just tastes too sweet and like chemicals!
e.greenleaf....totally!! soda now tastes....just gross.
Well, I am on day 15 and feeling great! My fridge and cupboards are now entirely vegan (only a small bit of butter remains which I will give to my neighbor.) Earth Balance buttery spread stuff is AMAZING. Soo good on toasted sourdough wheat from Trader Joe's.
I am finding I need to add other protiens to my repetoir......so far I've been only eating tofu, peanut butter, nuts and oils.
I feel the same way. I'm starting day 6. It does take planning and pre-organization. I'm thinking that part will get easier over time as I adjust my lifesyle. Sitting here now eating an apple and drinking kukicha tea before my workout when previously it would be cup of coffee with half and half and sweet n low and a toasted Thomas' english muffin with butter. Surprisingly i don't find myself craving the old stuff -- this has been the most surprising thing for me. I think it's helped that i've gone all the way versus flirted w it. I think if i flirted w it I would have a lot of trouble.
