Hi all
I am trying to stop using plastic tupperware containers for storage. But as a teacher with only about 15 minutes for lunch and a microwave, these seem to be the only option. Often I freeze healthy meals also for lunch as I make them. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate. The metal containers cannot be heated or frozen, so thats out!

This has been on my mind also! Thanks for the suggestions Amy! I love the jar idea too!

You might also look at laptoplunches.com, which are bento style lunch boxes. They are plastic but BPA free and the nicer sets come with a stainless thermos and drink bottle, and a pretty bag to carry all in.
wrap'n'mats are nice too. they are a place mat with lining and velcro, that you fold and secure around snacks/sandwiches. Machine wash and hang dry. my kids love the bentos and the mats.

I use Glasslock containers. They completely seal, so I don't have to worry about my soup leaking out or anything. They are expensive, but I got a great deal on a multi piece set at Costco.

one more thing...what to do with all the old tupperware containers? Stick them in with recycling? Feels like such a waste!

pyrex has all different sizes of glass containers with rubber lids, they're microwave and oven safe. you can also find baking dishes that are very small, that come with rubber lids for storage, you can zap those too.
