Oh my! The Umeboshi plums...

I brought them and tried one for the first time - nearly had a heart attack fromall the sodium that was in it. I did not expect that at all! However, because I was...*ahem*... a bit hungover from a social event from the night prior, the plum *did* help me feel better in about 30 minutes (after recovering from the inital sodium shock). Have you guys tried it?
I love the plums, but I would not eat one whole and plain. You are brave, lol :). I rarely drink, so I don't know how it would help me recover from a hangover, but I do know that the plum is SUPER helpful after I've eaten sugar. I've been able to lessen my sugar intake a lot, but every so often I see sugary things that are vegan, and I can't resist having...say...5 cookies haha. Anyway, after too much sugar, the plum is a miracle worker!
Heheh - not brave - just stupid. I didn't do my research and popped one in my mouth without knowing how they're prepared. Ohmigod!! Consider it a lesson learned, that's for sure... :)
Definitely will keep them in mind should I cave into one of my sugar cravings...
Hi, there! I am really glad this topic was brought up about the umeboshi plums. I live in a conservative city w/ only one health food store and a brand new 'Trader Joe's' (which I'm incredibly thankful for!!). I have only seen dehydrated umeboshi plums on the shelf and was curious if I would be able to use these as well. Would anyone happen to know if it makes a difference? I just purchased 'The Kind Life' thIs weekend and love it! I have seen this ingredient come up a few times in recipes and would appreciate any info. Thanks, so much!
