heya gang.
well so far 8 days without meat (and dairy, no not true, had an egg last week :( ). am NOT missing meat at all. in fact, am starting to have a real shift in my consciousness about animals, the earth, my body, etc. and i gotta say this site/ and the book have been absolutely KEY.
yesterday morning went out for brunch with some friends and watched one of them chow down her bacon and ACK, i was sooo happy that i was putting a yummy tofu/bok choy/gingered concoction into my body!
as well, the other night was movie night with peeps, ordered a spelt crusted pizza with soya cheese and veggies! did NOT miss the regular cheese at all.
if anything, i really focused (or tried to with each bite) how my choice was not going to leave me feeling bloated, gassy and overall gross. i saw my pals afterwards, moan about the pepperoni they ate and the extra cheese and how they felt disgusting. i was feeling satisfied and light (and a tad smug - oops).
the more i read bout these industries and their bizarre practices; in addition to getting more in tune with how my body FEELS after i eat them, the more i don't want them swimming inside my body.
this site has been very helpful as has the book - in helping me feel supported and part of a community who are standing up for animals, the environment and their wellness!
thx to folks on this site - your helping in ways, you probably didn't know you were.
keep it up.
peace
Go you! Keep it up!
But where do you live that you can order vegan pizza? That sounds great.
I am 2 1/2 weeks without meat, 1 week without dairy or white sugar. I definitely don't miss the meat but am struggling a bit with milk cravings Still though, I feel great!!! Way more energy.
Thanks Alicia and all the Kind-ers here!
no YOU go! ;) way to go on your 2. 5 weeks! woo hoo.
i live in victoria bc, canada :)
we have two places here, that you have a choice of yummy crusts as well as soy cheese.
i hear ya on the milk cravings - my weakness is cheese. cause gosh darnit - cheese can be soo delish. however, it DOES help to reread info about HOW cheese is made and how the animals are treated.
as well as remind myself that my body will feel lighter when i don't grate said parmesean cheese on veggies...
anyhoo brooke, keep it up too!
big time thanx to all the kindlifers here :)
