Anyone wondering about too much salt?

I have been vegan for awhile, but as I have started trying for "superhero" status, I have noticed with all the shoyu, miso and sea vegetables, I am feeling really oversalted. And yesterday my blood pressure was a little elevated. Could too much salt be the issue? How can I avoid this?

I would say, listen to your body's signals and cut down on those products. Also, drink more water for now, to dilute the extra salt & flush it out.

To replace Shoyu I like to use Braggs Liquid Aminos. No table salts are added as it uses the natural salt content of the ingredients. If you don't want the straight pour-it-out version they have a spray also. Here's a link to it that lists the aminos and nutritional info:

You can reduce it even more by dilluting with water. It's great with less than 200 on the salt whereas most shoyu or soy sauces run anywhere from 300-3000. I like mixing a little Liquid Aminos with some flax seed oil for a salad dressing.
If eating Miso it's mainly once a week if that. You may also want to try changing the kind of Miso you're using. If you're using the paste then typically the darker the paste the higher the sodium. Stay away from the Instant Miso Soup packs though. Hope this helps.
