Food Inc... I want to cry

I'll admit, I mostly got into The Kind Life because of health reasons and thought very little about the animals because I couldn't see my dog the same as a chicken. (Crazy I know.) I am watching Food Inc right now and I want to cry out for all the little chicks that were in that assembly line, the chickens at the open air farm, the pigs SCREAMING, I can't even think right now. My boyfriend seems to think that the food adms "are regulated so they must be safe" because "the meat industry turned over in the Teddy Roosevelt administration" and "that documentaries manipulate the population in order to make money off their film". I told him that cigarette companies are regulated right along with McDonalds and no one ever said they were good for you" and that with documentaries some do edit to their advantage and manipulate the dialoge but you can't manipulate thousands of animals getting killed right before your eyes not to mention the conditions they are in." He can't seem to get away from this idea that the government does NOT take care of us as a whole, and that every piece of information for organics or the meat industry is just out to make a buck. I don't know what to do. I'll let him make his own decisions obviously but I hate to see how limited his view of this one particular subject is, especially because everywhere else in life, he is the most compassionate, considerate, and kind man I've ever met.

You are not alone. I just tried to tell my husband about the top ten list, and he just says that's not true. He's respecting and supporting what I'm doing, but yet he's so skeptical that there is anything wrong with eating animal products. He does not understand why I'm choosing to forgo dairy at all! It is just difficult to get through to some people. All I know is that I feel great about what I'm doing, physically, I haven't felt this good in years. Eventually I'm hoping these results will convince the people around me. Good luck to you!

Oh, you two are so good to love and not get mad at your men. But that is difficult to be opposed on such a heartwrenching issue.
It is very painful to hear the opinion that any murder/torture is not viewed an act of hate but is accepted by a member of a society in denial as OK. Skinning fur animals whist still alive then tossing them onto a pile of skinned living foxes is no worse than the holocaust on cows, pigs, ducks, chx, turkeys. None of this is an act of LOVE and none of it is the will of God. Im not a religion freak, but I believe all beings are God's children. To murder one is to violate the rest...all humanity and animals are connected.
Ask the guys to watch EARTHLINGS with you because you "desire their support", ie; not to change their minds. I dont know how anyone could deny the atrocities against these innocent beings by sadistic farm employees full of hate after this award winning movie. Watch for free at www.earthlings.com or google video.
Peace and Love to you all

I just got this email from Twyla who rescues farm animals and makes people aware of the truth. Learn the reality about birds and feeling pain:
Twyla Francois commented on her photo:
"Through my investigations I've learned that chickens are the most sensitive of all animals. They even have a kind of sensory nerve in their legs and joints that we don't possess. Imagine their pain when loaded so roughly their femurs puncture their way into the abdominal cavity (a frequent occurrence) or when they are live-hung, upside down while completely conscious. How we treat birds is beyond horrible."

Hey girls, here is a good perspective on how UNIVERSAL LOVE is an important part of rejecting the support of violent cruel deaths for "meat".

GREAT MOVIE...you [probably] won't cry--I didn't--but I do cry at sad movies, trust me. But my prob is the opposite of you ladies. My wife is the non-believer, won't even try to understand my NOT eating meat or dairy, and even totally refuses to watch such eye-opening accounts such as "Food, Inc." which I personally believe every man, woman, and child old enough to understand should be REQUIRED to watch, regardless of their food intake. Good Luck! But, don't let any other person change what is right for you & for the planet.
