My husband and I would love to visit an animal sanctuary but are having trouble finding any in our area (Austin, TX). I have Googled and tried to find links through Farm Sanctuary and others in CA but have not had any luck. Does anyone know of some good resources or links that could help us locate one? Thanks!

Are you looking for a place to adopt? Or a place that harbors other more exotic animals in need of protection?
Here in Houston, there is CAP (citizens for animal protection) as well as the Humane Society, neither place puts animals down unless they are terminally ill.
What kind of place exactly are you looking for?

We're not looking to adopt, just a place to hang out with the cows, goats and pigs that have been rescued. We would like to volunteer, possibly, and just see how it goes from there. Basically, we just want to spend some time with some animals.
You live in Houston?!? Texas is so big, you'd think that they would have some farms like this.
