I LOVE mochi. it's delicious! Best thing I've discovered in years. I like it pan-fried savory, or as croutons, or as dessert... so good.

I just don't want to over-do it. How often can a Superhero eat mochi? And how much at a time? I could probably eat 1/5 a package in a sitting!

I'm thinking it's like other "processed" whole grains, and I should only eat it 2x a week or so.

I'm not sure what this is exactly? I looked for it at whole foods and found some kind of mochi powder/flour, I'm not sure if that is something I can work with or not. any suggestions? everyone talks about how great it is and I want to try it.

I just tried mochi this week. I love it, have had it three times so far! Twice pan-fried, and once baked. Definitely a difference in flavor, I like the pan-fried better.

If you buy the powder/flour you can make you own mochi, Angela. I have another macrobiotic cookbook that has a recipe for homemade mochi. When I made it this week, I used the pre-made stuff.

Do you mean the sweet rice gluten/powder, Yogi? I'm soooooo afeered to try making mochi because I've heard it's literally really really REALLY hard to handle - I'd love your advice!

I think that is what I mean, I have never bought the powder before, Karen. I wouldn't attempt making my own right now, I will stick to the pre-made one until I have the time to experiment with my own. And it's waay more convienent and easier to handle.

Ah, I understand, thank you! Right, we gotta crawl before we can run, yes? :) I'm really looking forward to trying the wonderful flavored mochis!

Hey, anyone got some tasty SAVORY mochi-things they make?
