I have been on a really low fat diet for over a decade and am a little worried about the products that are suggested. I went to the health food store today just to get an idea of what the products cost etc. I noticed the products do contain the good kind of fat but are kind of high in fat. Did anyone else have a problem with getting over eating more fat? I am just worried I will gain weight because right now I get around 10 grams of fat a day.

the beautiful thing about following the advice in the book is not worrying about the numbers as much. read more on the different types of fats and what they do for your body to lessen your anxiety. once you get used to the new foods, you can listen to your body. it tells you when it's hungry and if you listen closely, it tells you what it needs. a body needs some fats to survive, the key is giving it the good fats it actually needs versus filling up on the bad fats and feeling guilty about it. i definitely encourage you to do more research on the types of fats you are seeing in the foods you want to try. out of curiosity, what foods are worrying you?

I was worried about the vegan butter, cream cheese, cheeses, pretty much everything that has a higher fat conten. Most of foods are fat free.

If you eat more whole foods right from the earth, you wont have to worry about fat! Steam up LOTS of veges and put it on top of whole grain rice. Add some spice or sea salt..maybe a very little olive oil. Eat fruit and low fat soy milk. Silk makes the best! I have lost weight and not looking at the back of boxes either!

Use vegan butter, cream cheese, and other things like that sparingly. Maybe 1 day a week you'll have them. Don't use them everyday. Try to stick to olive oil and other all-natural fats, like avocados for your daily diet. Earth balance butter is GREAT now and then, but I don't use it all the time. Same with tofutti cream cheese.

.....but it's still better for you than cow butter and cow cream cheese!

Amy, You may want to skip to the superhero diet. It sound more in keeping with your previous dietary habits. The flirt and vegan sections help those accustomed to standard American food to transition. It sounds like superhero is the plan for you.
