Is anyone else allergic to artichokes? I tried one once and had a HUGE reaction to it, which was a shame because it tasted good. I noticed in the book that artichokes are mentioned several times, as well as cashews, which unfortunately I also seem to be allergic to. Are there any substitutes that are similar that I can try? Do you think if I picked them out of the dish and ate the rest of it I would be okay? Could my reaction have been related to something else (i.e., not being used to them)? Any recommendations would be helpful.
