Hi Everyone,
I love this site and the discussions, especially the recipe ideas. I have been lactose for years then in June I read this book "skinny bitch" and decided to stop eating animals. Since then I found I was eating the same things all the time. My daughter got the book The Kind Diet for christmas and I read it and LOVED it. I can't get over all the great, exciting food. I'm eating all sort of food that I can't pronounce. My daughter and I make something and go "WOW" that was great. My favourtie (today, and it changes daily) is my Nori Wrap. I wrap romaine lettuce, avocado, rice and pour homemade peanut sauce over. It makes me so happy. This food plan is great and it makes me feel so good. I will post my picture as soon as I figure out how to because it won't accept my pic :(
cheers
Hi Everyone,
I am also new but did read "skinny bitch" also and realized for the first time how the animals were treated...so I went off meat for a good two months and felt great...but slowly it left my mind and I started eating red meat.
My daughter in law gave me the book "The Kind Diet" for Christmas after we talked about being a vegan and we talked about how healthy it was for our bodies.
I am hooked and I believe I will forever be a vegan. I have a good 45lbs to lose and looking forward to making friends and being healthy again.
Thank you so much Alicia for sharing your story and book to all of us that want to be healthy and have a green earth.
Hi Rose
I too would like to lose 20lbs. I decided to only weigh my self once a month. I have been on this food plan for 10 days and my stomach is feeling smaller. My clothes are still tight but not "can't breath tight" I feel really good. I still have 2 cups of coffee a day. I know Alicia said not to count calories but I am. Trying to stick with 1200 per day. I went to Whole Foods yesterday and picked up some great items. Love playing with food and trying new stuff. I just had breakfast, brown rice cooked with soy, cinnamon, apple and sunflower seeds. Warm and yummy mmmmm
