A juicer was on my Christmas list this year but instead my husband bought me a Vita-Mix. looks like a blender but does more; It juices, chops, makes smoothies, soups and kneads bread dough.

Soup - my fave!! All you need is some broth, raw veggies, seasoning and blend it all up. If you let it go 5-6 minutes it even heats it! Fresh soup in just moments and you know exactly what's in it. It's noisy like a belnder but worth it.

Super excited about my new toy so wanted to share for those who love soup, want quick meal options and may need a bit of help with vegan meal planning.

Smoothies are a blast to make. They come out just like jamba juice. A super quick recipe is vegan bananna ice cream. Put in your fav milk subsitute (1 1/2 cup). I like rice or almond milk best. Then add frozen bananna pieces about 1/2 cup and cinnamon and or nutmeg, Use more if not thick like ice cream. You are gonna love the vitamix. Good recipes in book for milk substitutes like almond milk. Have fun!

I absolutely LOVE my Vita-Mix. I use it at least once a day so it was well worth the investment. I try to have a green smoothie every morning to get more greens in my diet; I even have got my kids to drink it because you can't taste the greens (which is usually spinach)! With a Vita-Mix, you can throw in your frozen banana's with spinach, some almond milk, a couple dates, cinnamon, a pinch of sea salt and a little vanilla stevia (if you like it sweet)!! It tastes sooooooooooo good and there is never any little spinach pieces floating around! I also use it to make my miso soup too! I throw in zucchini chunks and it blends so smoothly.

Congratulations Daisy! My father gave me my Vita Mix about 10 years ago and I still love it! I had to get the container part replaced recently because of a slight crack. Customer service was great. Works just as well as the day I got it.

I just joined the list and this was the first thread I read. How exciting since my Vita-Mix is due to arrive today! I pasted a picture of it on my vision board and my husband bought it for me this week. I'm excited to read your comments!

I've had a Vita-mix for about 15 years and it only JUST quit doing anything but mixing on 10 (highest setting). I miss the gradual settings because, even with the lid on and feeding through the lid, it's a bit splashy.
I first knew that Vita-mix was different when I turned it on and the lights dimmed. It's 2 horse-power baby!!! lol
I've bought a new one and it's on it's way. Now I can send the other one in for repair. Customer Service promised it would be quick but I use mine daily and just couldn't send it off.
I use it to make smoothies all the time, only rarely soups but I want to do that more!
Soup recipes anyone?

it pulverizes! If you put an apple in there, the whole thing and add water? Juice. I used a juicer for a while but the pulp...well I didn't like all the pulp waste. And many fruits have great stuff in the peels so I wanted to keep that too.
but the settings are 1 - 10 so you can control it, you can pulse it if you like. I also use mine to chop onions (you add an onion, water) and do a lower number and the blades do a rough chop, then I dump it into a strainer and the onions are ready to go and the stinging fumes from the cuts are rinsed off. :)
