This is my strangest post yet! haha
I cleaned out my closet for the new year and have a bunch of old undies & socks that the local thrift stores probably won't take. I can't bring myself to throw them away, but don't know what to do with them! Any advice?
Depends on what they look like! If theyre cute or colorful you and you know how to sew you could make something with them!
I made dog toys out of our old socks. Hmmm....I never thought about what to do with underwear.
i understand what you mean Maria... but i'm laughing over the thought of a blanket made out of old underwear! ew! hahahaaa
ew... i dont think i can use a blanket made out of old underwear...haha. that is funny.

HAHA, well, I'm not much of a seamstress & I also don't know how I feel about reusing them for other purposes....LOL
I do hope someone comes up with some ideas. I've always wondered this myself. I'm not much of a seamstress either.
For those of you who seamstresses, maybe you could make a blanket out of the old underwear (which is funny and kinda gross as you've all pointed out! hehe) but donate it to an animal shelther. I hear that shelters are always looking for towels and blankets. I really don't think many dogs would mind curling up to what once used to be someone's underwear.
What about using them as rags? I cut up my husbands old undershirts for rags and they are really nice and soft. You could just cut out the crotch (sorry, lack of a better word) of the undies to make two rags. Socks are great for dusting. Just put it on your hand like a puppet!
We gave a huge pile of old, stained or worn towels - both kitchen and bath size - to the local animal shelter. They always need towels. I've been wondering what to do with all our old socks, too. Hopefully, someone will come in with a brilliant and doable idea...cause I'm totally unable to come up with anything.
