Just reading The Kind Diet made me feel good! It all makes great sense and instantly appealed to my body. Since I need to wait for a pay day to buy all of the foods I want to try, I decided to use the ingrediants I had in the kitchen. Brown rice, black beans, broccoli, and onion - YUM! Not complicated and I felt so good to eat Fuel! I sat, chewed and contemplated - I did not run around the house doing other things to run back and get a bite! Alicia, I believe in this whole-heartedly and feel empowered just knowing this is my new Superhero life!!
Denise - the "chewed and contemplated" is a different sensation isn't it? Like you I am always doing other things while I eat (at least for 85% of my meals anyways) and settling in and chewing slowly is NEW to me.I only finished reading the book this weekend and am taking a closer look at my foods. The contemplative chewing is a whole other level of appreciation. Onward!
Nina - Hi! There is a great video of Jessica Porter on YouTube on chewing and her chew-a-thon! I know the enzymes in your saliva are good for digestion but someone had to TELL me to chew! Funny, right? Contemplating the energy and the beauty of your food is a wonderful thing!
Hi guys! I have been chewing my food a lot more, and now it takes me longer to finish meals. My friends complain that I am a slow eater, but I feel good and full for longer! Definitely something to get used to, but it's great!
