I've long been a foodie, I've done a lot of vegan and vegetarian cooking but I've never given up meat. I'm here because it feels like it's my time, it's my natural progression to be here.
I'm an Independent Beachbody Coach (produces home workouts) and so I am really interested in the foods that will power and fuel the body through workouts. I've KNOWN about a lot of the options, but really, have only dabbled.
If you go to my profile and read my blog from last night, it shows the progression as to how I arrived here. I like it here. It feels right. People who want the best ingredients for their bodies. I really liked the friendliness of Alicia's book, not making me feel guilty for taking so long to get to this point.
I want to learn and can't wait to pick the brains of those who know more than I do - I hope my questions don't drive others nuts but hopefully I will also have answers for many as well. I wholeheartedly welcome questions about Beachbody workouts, my profile has my offsite blog info so I don't go on and on about it here.
Enjoy the day!

Oh, and I wanted to add, I live where the west coast Farm Sanctuary is, in Orland California. I have only ever "sponsored" animals (you donate enough to care for an animal) but I think that maybe donating TIME will help my transition be more swift. This is a ranching town, agricultural orchards and cattle, sheep, and ...well, more animals (for consumption) than there are people. Go Farm Sanctuary !

Hey Natalie! It's a great great program, very demanding - as you know, so make sure that you've stocked up on enough proteins and awesome carbs to power you through! I've done it a couple times. Who is your coach? (If you buy it through the infomercial, you get assigned a free coach) I love being a coach. I work from home but the people, the whole company is a great mindset. They just moved into a Green building they built from the ground up. So proud! Make sure to use yours for any question you have! I'm here to become a better coach, to help power people to their peak performance with peak foods so I'm pretty jazzed. I'm so glad to have this place to learn!!!If you go to my profile and see my Earning Fitness web link, you'll see a picture of me climbing a rope with Tony coaching me from the bottom. It was after my first round of P90X.
I look forward to your X journey. :)

it's so funny - I think everyone who starts on this path thinks about the meat at first...but then the realization that cheese is going bye bye too! lol. I'm not there yet, I'm in awe of the "quitting cold" folks.
Yay Jennifer! let me know how it goes! woohoo! how awesome this is!

jennifer - have you ever heard of Za'atar? It's an herb mix. I have to travel 90 miles to get it but it's available online too. I like to buy it from the store in Sac because it comes in BIG bags and I can make the trip less. ANYWAY - if you mix it with olive oil in a paste and put it on a whole wheat pit, I don't know how, but it smells and then tastes like a pizza. It's SO good. Google Za'atar to see the herbs in it and see what you think. It won't help you right NOW but it helps me get through "those times".

Sadly, I haven't come up with a sweet fix that cures the sweet fix during "those times".
