My whole life I wasn't a huge meat eater and after reading The Kind Diet I went vegetarian for a month and I've now been vegan for 2 months. Fortunately, it all has come really easy to me and I've enjoyed trying new foods and recipes. Just to challege myself and be healthier, I'm considering to dabble in a few steps towards becoming superhero. What are some simple and easy changes I could make that would help me to start my way to becoming superhero...Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

id recommend trying to phase out soymilk and those kinds of products, like soy ice cream etc which are quite processed, and all those other convenience vegan foods. eat loadsa leafy greans and beans and lentils and fruit and wholegrains. remembe r you don't have to be supehero all the time! this is what im trying to do at the moment and so far im doing gud

Hi Shelby, if you weren't even vegetarian 3 months ago and now you're vegan I think it's really impressive. The more you eat 'the kind way' I think you'll realize you don't even need or feel like processed vegan foods, or maybe you'll do now and then. I guess it all happens naturally, your body starts to get used to precious, nutritious, simple, clean food and will be perfectly happy with that. And as Melody said, there's no need to be superhero absolutely all the time!

Hi There, I just finished reading the Kind Diet and will be referencing it as I go along my way. I just have something I am unsure about. Since tofu, tempeh and seitan fall under beans, does that mean that I can go without eating tofu, tempeh and seitan and just eat beans? How I forsee myself, I would only eat one of the above 3 maybe once every 7-10 days. I wanted to know if I decided to go a month or two just eating beans and not the above three, would I be fine nutritionally? I apologize if this seems to have an obvious answer but the foods seem so integrated into the diet that I couldn't tell if it is optional. Thanks!

tofu and tempeh are both made from soybeans... seitan is wheat gluten. if your happy eating beans, go for it. those 3 hings are protein sources, and thats what beans are too. those are just some other tasty alternatives to plain beans. but theres so many kinds of beans... i use them all the time too. i love tofu, havent actually tried seitan yet.. i wouldnt be worried. beans are cheaper anyway...

Thanks! Seitan is very hearty. I was full for so long after I ate it.
