Is incredible!!!
I had heard about it mentioned casually in conversations before, but never really looked into until after reading the book or somewhere on the site.
I'm moving from Ca to Va in a month and signed up for the local freecycle. I'm getting rid of most of the piece of furniture I own (except some family pieces) and already signed up for the Freecycle in Va to replace it/scope it out.
I'm really excited about this. Not only am I helping people out, but the amount of gas that would have been wasted Uhauling my furniture acrossed the country would have been overwhelming (at 12 miles per gallon!). I have gotten a litle sentimental over some furniture pieces - but it's the memory, not the piece. I took pictures of them :) Now it's just my (32 miles per gallon) car and a small trailer! It's oddly relieving to get rid of so much...
Any other people that have discovered freecycling?
Hi Carissa! I have, I got freecycling in my area for awhile! I LOOOOOVE it and love the idea - only two drawbacks, and it's not like they stopped me - LOL:
1. omg, you can get INUNDATED with emails!
2. It moves FAST - I kept getting responding and getting answers that I was too late - LOL!
But that's just my area, and it's WAY too worthy not to get into - good luck and have fun! Have the smoothest, easiest move possible.
