From the other side of the fence...I have been eating Raw-vegan the past few weeks with the exception of some beans, quinoa and brown rice as my cooked foods. I cut out alcohol, coffee, and sugars. The only processed thing I eat is almond milk in my smoothie. I am also counting calories and finding it very difficult to stay aroun 1200, which is where I need to be for weight loss. The reason is, nuts, seeds, beans, quinoa all are high in calories. I have lost 2 lbs in 2 weeks. Oh - and I have increased my cardio workouts as well. Better than nothing, but the weight definitely isn't "falling off". I am sharing this because I had very high hopes that the lbs would "fall off" like everyone else. My body just doesn't like to let go of fat and it is possible to over consume calories even while eating super-healthy foods and I would hate for you to be led astray by thinking its not an issue.

I'm hoping to lose some weight too. I have a problem with overeating. I've been a vegetarian for awhile, currently flirting with vegan but I was thinking of doing two weeks full superhero and see what happens...no excuses or anything. Would anyone like to try this with me?

I love this diet, the super hero in particular, very "whole" foods based has helped me to loose those last 5 pounds that seemed like they would never go away. Now I never pay attention to portions and I have zero trouble with my weight, it's amazing! Try eating too many beans, leafy greens and whole grains it's pretty much impossible to gain weight eating these.

Carly- if you use whole grain oatmeal it's a grain. Just avoid instant or quick oats. I bought oat groats, but those require soaking and I just can't deal with it right not. Also oatbran is so healthy, it had more protein than oatmeal, although since it's milled (bran remoated) it's probably not superhero. I am so used to fruit in the AM too! I have been making kale shales a couple times per week, I use flax seed, hemp seed, make milk with water in the vitamix. Then I add a dried date, banana and kale. Now that apples are coming in season in Michigan and it's becoming Indian Summer I will replace the banana for the apple. I know banana's are not superhero but neither are potatoes, I have to keep my potassium up otherwise Charlie Horse galore!!!
