I recently just made my first miso soup and it was amazing! I have been having it for breakfast everyday for about a week and I realized how much salt it had in it. Is it okay for me to be eating it everyday even with the huge amount of salt in it? It is weird to me because it doesn't really taste like there is a ton of salt in it. Should i be eating it every morning? Does it really benefit me?

I am sure that it depends on the brand you use. Some may have less sodium than others. I think in mine there is 400-600 mg of sodium per tablespoon. I use about a teaspoon in 1-1 1/2 C. water. I think there is a difference of the type of salt and the way it is prepared. Sea salt is way better for you then table or refined salt. It is less processed..and is naturally found in the ocean. Also..adding salt to your food..at the table is worse than eating it after it has been dissolved or cooked into your food..it's harder for your body to process and get rid of. The key to everything is moderation. Asian cultures have been eating miso soup daily..and having small amounts of soy sauce forever. Miso is a great probiotic. It helps digestions which in turn helps your immune system. I would keep up with the miso...just make sure that throughout the rest of the day you are not eating too much sodium..especally in processed foods..thats where it is hidden.
