I made the squash and onions recipe from TKD, but used kabocha squash instead of butternut. OMG, it was soooo good, if you like kabocha, you have to try it!

I wish I knew if I liked kabocha. I made the kabocha adzuki bean and I hate to admit it because I love all things healthy but I could barely get this down the first night and I made my husband finish the rest of it. Now I don't know if it was the kabocha or the adzuki beans or the kombu that turned me off since those were all new to me. I'm scared to try these ingredients again because I hate when food goes to waste but even more I love food and hate to waste a meal on eating food I don't enjoy.

it's definitely the adzuki beans. they are a different flavor, very grass-like taste.

if you like butternut squash, you'll like kabocha. it tastes like a cross between butternut and a sweet potato.

The kabocha squash is so delicious, seems like you could make it into a zuccinni type bread or pie or something. The texture is so smooth and it has such a sweet and buttery flavor.
Peace.
