Thank you so much for the shake ideas ladies!

Melissa, I will have to check out that book. My doc did advise me to get at least 60 grams per day, but I am curious about his theory.

Thank you everyone for all of the insight!

I have looked into the Vega supplement, but it is so expensive at $80! How long does a 'tub' last??

I use MANITOBA HARVEST "HEMP PROTEIN 70." It has 21 grams of protein, 800mg of omega 3's, all 10 essential amino acids, it's 140 cals. I mix it with 1/2 cup of almond milk now, 1 cup frozen fruit, 1/2 c. of frozen blueberries, splash of vanilla, agave nectar, and sometimes a sprinkle of almonds on top.
I only have it after my weight workouts usually.
It's only $9 at my local market.
Oh, and it's soy, gluten, and hexane free! Major bonus, since I'm allergic to soy.
Great balance of protein and carbs for post workout!
Peace,
Cassi

I love Vega. It's really a whole (small) meal replacement since it is made entirely from whole foods. I make a Vega shake each morning at breakfast with one scoop and it keeps me going all morning.
It's expensive, but check around for prices. I get the small tubs and they last a long time. Looking at the label, you'd get 30 scoops from a 34.5oz tub. I eat one scoop at a time.
