Does anyone actually enjoy the cure-all tea?

I just made it for the first time this morning (weekend overindulging, yikes) and I thought I was going to hurl. I couldn't even finish it. It tasted sooooo salty and just...blech. I also tried to suck on the pit of the plum and it was barely tolerable.
I just told myself it was like medicine I had to take - I'm having green tea now and feeling pretty ok, but man...that tea is intense!
I just bought kukicha tea bags for the first time and couldn't even stand the smell of the dry bags! I wimped out and just made my regular herbal tea instead, so I completely agree!
i really like the taste of the cure-all tea. i don't add any shoyu to it though. just kukicha and an umeboshi.
it's got a savory smoky flavor. you may come to enjoy it. i find it's an acquired taste, like coffee and beer.
yes, the next time I try i will definitely omit the shoyu - it was over the top salty.
e.greenleaf, how often do you drink the tea? do you find that it helps, and if so in what capacity? I'm interested to hear more :)
I made it and was pretty good with it, it takes alittle adjustment but omitting the shoyu does make it less salty so if it is icky for you try omitting that first :)
Imade it for the first time last night. It was more mellow than I thought it would be. It was my first time eating an umeboshi plum too! But I will definitely drink it again. No shoyu in it for me.
I really like it, but I like umebushi plums plain and i get impatient with the tea and just eat the plum at the bottom. But, you can rinse off the plums really well to get rid of the salt that they are stored in. It also seriously does cure all. It really helps me with headaches and feeling acidic and slugish after eating too much or the wrong stuff or a hangover.
I just had my first cure all tea this morning, used regular decaf tea with the plum and no shoyu. It was different tasting (very salty) and definitely something to get used to....but Thanks Claire for the advice about washing the salt off...I am definitely going to do that. I think the medicinal purpose of the plum is totally worth it!
