I have had much success baking vegan however, over the weekend I tried making the crispy peanut butter treats in the book and they turned out mushy (kinda like stale ceral, I ate some right before baking with it and the cerael was crispy). But, once I added the brown rice sryup mixature to the cereal, it went bad. I used 6 oz of puffed brown rice cereal. Has anyone had better sucess and what cereal did you use?

that's weird, i used nature's path organic whole grain brown crispy rice. try again, these puppies are well worth it!! i've made them both with choc chips and almond butter, and also with almond butter and raisins. both delish! i ended up munching on it before it even hardened;)

I heard from another person that the puffed rice doesn't work. You have to use crispy rice. I used the Erewhon brown rice crips and it worked beautifully.

Thank you both for the feedback! I am going to try the treats again, using crispy rice (the stuff I bought looked just like rice crispy but, "crispy " does seems to be the key word - puffed just isn't going to cut it!). Thanks again!
