I really need to get to the point where I treat sugar and caffeine the same way as I do meat and dairy. If someone asked me to go out and get a cheeseburger, the thought would never across my mind to join them an eat a burger. However, if I'm out and someone says "wanna get a coffee" I feel like I completely zone out and order up a soy mocha. I know that's not the worst thing in the world but afterward I feel gross and jittery and I"m out $4.00! What I really don't understand is why I can't just retrain myself to either just join them and drink water or order an herbal tea, or any type of tea for that matter.
Anyone have this issue and figure out a resolution. It's weird because at home I'm much better by just keeping the coffee pot in an inconvenient spot but when I'm out social conditioning just takes over.
Thanks for any advice!
