Hi everyone!I am a new girl and have just started reading Alicia's book which I LOVE! I am only 28 years old and am an interior designer, which is truly my passion. Last year, I was told I had a severe gluten allergy along with dairy, turkey, pork, and some other foods which were probably brought on by my stressful job which I have since quit!Cutting out gluten has truly opened my eyes to my health and made me look at the big picture. I have worked dairy back in my diet recently but have started feeling sluggish again. I want to just start fresh with a clean slate and eat the right way!I have also been recently introduced to the documentary food, inc. which has helped me to take a second look of what I am putting in my mouth! I can't wait to meet you all and go through this amazing journey to a better life together! Lauren :-)
hello everyone I am new to this, but my question to Lauren is how did the doctor's know you were allergic to these foods?
Hi everyone! Thanks for the support! I can't wait to share with you my experiences as I get started! Arianne, I think we can really help each other out and I can help you with the gluten thing. My doctor put me through the Alcat test which was amazing! It found so many allergies that I had including food dye red#5 and flouride which I had no clue! If you visit www.alcat.com you can read up on this testing system. It's pricy but if you go through a Dr. the offers it then it's not bad. Also, if you are just getting started, I would suggest getting the book Quantum Wellness, 21 day cleanse. It will cut out many things people are allergic to and if you want to start working them back in, then you can do so and keep a journal. My doctor said to working on one thing a week because it can take that long to have some sort of reaction! I hope that helps!!!! Let me know if you have any more questions!!! Lauren :-)
