Has anyone made this recipe? It is in my oven right now. I cooked it for 40 minutes but the top is still gooey. I could fit all the topping in the casserole. It smells good though. smiley-sealed.gif

I didn't like it. It never was gooey. i've heard some people say it was really watery pre-cooked. I don't know if i made it wrong, or if i just don't care for polenta, but it has been my least favorite of the ones i've made. I hope it works out better for you! :)

This was my only recipe from TKD that i didn't like though.

I made this dish as well and it was ok. I found it a little bit dry and that the layers didn't really mesh together ... but it still tasted pretty good.

Yeah I made this a month ago or so it wasn't good. Maybe I just made it wrong but it came out all gooey, the top was kinda cooked but I left in the oven longer than it had to be and no luck with making it sturdier. But you should give it a try e.greeleaf, maybe you'll have better luck than we did.

I made this meal last night and used corn meal. It was gooey when I removed it from the oven so I cooked it for an additional 20 minutes. After letting it sit for the recommended 15 minutes it was still gooey but tasted great...it solidifed after sitting for 30 minutes more. I put the leftovers in the fridge and had some for breakfast...tasty but the seitan had a rubbery texture. I think that this dish is supposed to cool significantly if you want it to look like the picture in TDK.

I had the same experience as others, never solidified and so was very "runny". It tasted ok, though but not one of my fav's.

Nope tried it but didn't like it. The top turned out but to much and big compared to the bottom stuff. I love all the other recipes though.

I made this but it was too bland for me. Since I'm the only one eating this way in my home, I had a lot left. I've been eating it every day to get rid of it but I've had to add a mixture of Tahini and Umiboshi Vinager whisked together and spread over the top to get it salty enough for my taste. It's pretty good that way. Not sure if I'll make it again. I don't really like the seitan either. Chewey and no flavor. Just my opinion.
