Hi! I've been a vegan for about a month now and the only problem I'm having with it is that I can't get rid of my really bad breath. I love everything about this diet, but my boyfriend can't stand kissing me and I have to constantly take breath mints. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is there a natural remedy or maybe a mint that I can take? Any help would be great, thanks!

Hi Cait - are you eating a lot of onions/garlic/scallions/radishes? I noticed I had breath issues when I first started this diet because of those things. I still eat them, but I plan the timing of those meals a little better. Like for me, I try not to have that stuff for lunch at work, because my breath will be very bad for meetings and such in the afternoon. Are there certain foods you notice that make it worse after you eat them?
Breath mints actually seem to make my breath worse i've always noticed. Parsley i think is supposed to freshen your breath. Nothing is more affective for me than flossing, brushing, then mouthwashing. Hope this helps!
