Umeboshi Plums in Los Angeles

Does anybody know where to get Umeboshi plums in LA? I've tried Whole Foods and the Asian market on Western & 1st, but both only carried the paste. It seems that I can order them pickled online. Is this ideal or can I get them fresh anywhere? Any advice is much appreciated!

I would call Erewhon and see if they have them.

I am trying to find umeboshi plums in Columbus, Ohio. Whole foods does not carry them. Does anybody know? Thanks.

well let me add to the bay area in cali cause I would be curious to know where to buy them here as well if anyone knows

I bought them at Country Sun health food store in Palo Alto...but there are tons of asian markets around here, in San Jose, and up the peninsula to San Francisco, depending on where you are in the Bay Area. I would Yelp "Japanese markets" and call around.
