I made the peanut butter cups today and they tasted delicious however they were very sticky and wouldn't peel out of the paper liners even after many hours of refridgeration. We ate them with spoons. I put the rest in the freezer to see if that would help. The only thing I did different was use maple syrup instead of maple sugar. Someone else did this and there results were fine. Any tips?

Aren't they great frozen? MMM. But maybe you didn't cook the peanut butter mixture long enough...Maybe it would thicken with a bit more heat. But anyway you go they are delicious.

Generally, when you switch from dry to liquid sweeteners, you have to reduce the amount...I think the ratio is 3 parts to 4 parts. Maybe that's the problem?

maple sugar is granulated so it makes the cups less sticky than syrup. My mixture was liquidy but I let it sit for a few minutes off the heat. Then it was soft after the wait in the fridge, but i think they got even better after a day in there. I would say that you should just melt the butter and get it mixed but take it right off the heat.
