Hello......I also started, but not completely vegan. I just cut out eating meat but I'm still working on dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese). Anyone else havin a struggle with it? I love my dairy!!!

Hey everyone. I took the V-plunge as well! My name is Kyra. Nice to see I'm not the only newbie. @Lynn80 - I've always been a creamy girl. I loved my dairy. But Silk chocolate milk, SO DELICIOUS Peanut Butter Zig Zag non-dairy ice cream, Tofuttit Cream Cheese, and Soy yogurt (which is mild, sweet and scrumptious) is how you get by. Don't think of it as giving something up. Think of it as broadeing your horizons. You'll find that you can tweak things and make them even better without sacrificing your health, beliefs or cause.

I am new to the vegan world too.I am slowly trying to take things away. I am not a fan of meat and I am a big fan of fruits and veggies, but I love dairy food too. As a kid I was allergic to milk...I would throw-up my milk my mom would give me. So I had to drink Soy milk. I think I still have problems with dairy products. SO, I am going to slowly take dairy out of my diet for health reasons. Its going to be hard but I think it will be worth it. I would love advice and answers to my questions.

I have been only doing this for two weeks but I was wasn't any were near healthy because I was recovering from an eating disorder. I would have classified my eating habits and health before as toxic and when I went vegan it was the best decision I ever made. I never really ate meat but I ate a lot of dairy. I wasn't even close to eating plants before two weeks ago much less make it a main source of my diet. When I saw this website it made me happy to know there's actually a community of people who like being a vegan or at least know what it is. I have to say though I get stressed at times from trying to get the hang of this, I get more nutrition than I ever did before.

Hey! I too am a newbie. Well i have not ate meat for years now, but still ate fish and dairy. Today is my first day trying to go vegan. I am flirting and hope to one day be a superhero! I think the hardest thing for me will be cottage cheese. That was what i usually ate every morning with my fruit for breakfast.

I started cutting out dairy a while ago, but am just beginning to go vegan. I am finding good substitutes for my milk, yogurt, and ice cream habits. I don't think I can give up my morning cup of coffee, though! I'm going to try some new recipes this week and see how it goes.

Oh yes! I have not given up my coffee either. That is going to be an even harder one for me.
