I first wanted to thank Sierra, a fellow Kind Lifer, for all that she contributes to Alicia's website. I have been a member for a few months now and she always has some help to offer others. I have been following macrobiotic/vegan diet for a few years now. I love what it has done for my skin, my body etc. Alicia's book is wonderful. The books I keep in my kitchen: The China Study, The Hip Chick's Guide to Macrobiotics, and Alicias. The one thing I have struggled with over the years is slight depression, anxiety, constipation, bloated belly, and not being able to think as clearly as I want to. Sierra recently suggested to someone to try gluten free for a week or two. I have been for 4 days now and I feel like a million times better in the head. I feel so much lighter and freer than before. I feel discharge leaving my body through my eyes, my skin, urinating more and my bones and muscles feel so much more at ease. I would like to try barley (I love with my rice) again, but I am going to wait a bit. Does anyone have any suggestions when it might be ok to try to incorporate that again? I love barley and what it does for my skin, and am hoping my problem may only be with the wheat. If anyone has any experience with going gluten free or wheat free I would love to read about it. Thank you Sierra for the time you take to post your insights. You have really helped me, and I am sure others that you don't even know. Alicia has really done a great thing with what she has created here.
