Hey, just wondering if anyone knows of any good vegan hot chocolate mix. I know the best way to make hot chocolate is with cocoa powder and all that over a stove, but I live in a dorm, so that's not really a practical option. I just bought some "ah!laska organic cocoa" from a local health foods store, but I'm pretty disappointed in it :(

Hi Michelle! A HUGE ditto on the ah!laska stuff. I was SO excited when I found a vegan hot cocoa mix (hurray!) but then brought it home and YUCK. dude, that stuff is knarly. this is one of the only vegan things I've found that I really can't stomach- ick!!! So I've been using the old cocoa powder/sugar standby- which you can actually microwave also! it's really hard to get the clumps out, but it's definitely better than the ah!laska stuff, clumps or no clumps! good luck!

That stuff was expensive too! Now I don't know what to do with it...Thanks though! I'll have to get a hold of some cocoa powder, I've been missing hot chocolate lately!

I make hot chocolate out of hot water (boiled or in microwave), stevia, splash of almond milk (if I have it), and a splash of vanilla. You can totally make that in the dorms. I find the vanilla really makes the flavor.
