Help! Does anybody have any recommendations for a good rice cooker, specifically one that works well for brown & wild rice? Thanks for any help you can give smiley-smile.gif

well that brand had pretty good reviews. i would go to target.com or walmart.com and check out what they have. i've seen some people talk about an asian brand- zojirushi... i've seen mixed reviews. they are pricey so i am not ready to invest in one. it may be something you want to consider if you are in this for the long run.

oh, i would look in to brands like black&decker and oster too.

I would really recommend a rice cooker with neuro fuzzy technology. Mostly, Japanese cookers. They make cooking rice effortless and always come out amazing, especially brown rice. It adjusts heat and cooking time based on weight and humidty, so if you put in the wrong amount of water, it still comes out great. They are pricier than most, but well worth the investment. Will last for years and years. I feel that the one "made in japan" seem to be more durable with a nice heavy pot. You can find them in most asian supermarkets. Here is a brand that I prefer: http://www.zojirushi.com/ourproducts/ricecookers/ns_zcc.html

Zojirushi! It is so worth it. I bought it on Amazon two years ago. I'm a touring musician (and vegan) so it's been awesome to have on the road - the "keep warm" feature is awesome - doesn't dry out at all. Two years later (after some hard traveling, I might add) it is still coming out perfectly. I use it for rice, quinoa, oatmeal, soup, even vegetables! You won't regret it!

Okay, I just put the Zojirushi NS-ZCC18 10-cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker & Warmer in my Amazon Cart. It looks really good and I want something that is going to last and work well so $180 is fine. Thank you for all your help! smiley-smile.gif
