I have not used carob much in the past but have had it frequently in trail mix or granola bars. So the other day I was planning to make the rice crispie treats from TKD so I went to the store to get carob chips. To my surprise the ingredients included Whey. That week I went to three other stores and all the carob chips had whey in the ingredients.
Again, I am pretty clueless as far as carob is concerned but I would have assumed it was a better for you alternative to chocolate chips. Any thoughts? Do all carob chips have whey?
(btw: I used mini vegan choc chips instead - yummy)
Not sure where you live but in Florida we have the WinnDixie Grocery stores - they carry vegan carob chips- which is amazing because they have a "healthy" section - separate from the rest of their "normal" grocery store - it's small only about 4 - 1/2 height rows - half the normal length of a regular grocery store.....:)
