So I'm still just a vegetarian, but trying vegan options and flirting with the idea. I think cheese will be an issue as many others said, but I am going to try to cut way down on my dairy and egg intake as soon as I eat what is left of it in the fridge. But there is something in my life that is unkind and not an easy fix. I have been thinking about it a lot lately and it is very upsetting. When my dad bought me a car, he bought it with partially leather seats! I am thankful that he helped me out in getting a car, but now that I am changing my lifestyle I feel so terribly guilty about having leather seats. Not to mention I look like a complete hipocrite. I just got a job that I can ride my bike to and can ride my bike to the grocery store and to the gym, but I still feel awful about my car.

My thought on that is the animal already died. Do not make his death be for nothing. Keep the leather seats and just explain to people that the weren't your choice and it was before you were vegan. Just don't buy any NEW shoes, belts, purses, etc. made of animal skin. I never buy new animal skin prducts EVER but I will pick up some shoes from the thrift store. Or buy from some of the awesome vegan sites like http://mooshoes.com or http://veganchic.com or http://alternativeoutfitters.com or http://ahimsafootwear.com
When I became vegan I didn't get rid of all my leather. I saw it as too much wasted death and wasted money. But I did CHANGE my ways. So I wouldn't stress about the seats.

i'm in the same boat. we have a leather couch, and right now i'm sitting in our leather computer chair......it sucks. i can't afford to replace these things! for the past 4 months i've stopped buying anything with leather or any other animal products. the hardest thing for me is my down filled winter coats. i live in ontario, and the only thing that saves me most winters is my ankle length north face coat......what to do, what to do. i've collected all my purses and i i'm going to sell them at the consinement shop.
