So I ate a homemade chocolate chip cookie and now I have a headache and my stomach is a mess. Eventauly I will learn, I hope. What can I do to get rid of this icky feeling?? Is there a tea or food I can eat to right this wrong? I kinda just want some brown rice and spinach. Is my body telling me what it needs?

i think so. i would listen. im a vegetarian and have just been flirting with limiting dairy, but wednesday night we ordered cheese pizza, AND mozzarella sticks, AND i finished my valentines day chocolate. holy crap whata binge! i felt so sick i was up all night and actually ended up calling out sick the next day which i NEVER do but i was MISERABLE. i took it slow throughout the day- my body wanted plain crackers so i ate them. then i had some leftover soup i had made with veggie broth, noodles, and broccoli because that sounded good too. had some tea as well. i felt like i would never be comfortable again, but it actually eased pretty quickly. today i made it a point to just eat light and have lots of brown rice and veggies for lunch. i did have a little dairy today but NOTHING like wednesday. its amazing how quickly our bodies get used to change and rebel when we screw up!!! but i really think i was able to get back on track quickly, feel better quickly, and was "reinspired" as well. im sure you will too.
it helped me to remember what alicia said in the book- every time i lose my way it just makes me grateful that i have a way to lose... or something to that affect. its true!

Thanks so much. I did eventually feel better. My husband and I went out for dinner at an indian retaurant later in the evening. I didnt eat much but was thankful for the leftovers today. I ate clean today. I have a feeling I will be off dairy and eggs for a while. That feeling was gross! I too am thankful for having a way to lose. Here's to staying on track.

Hey Cathy -

Here's hoping that you feel better soon. One thing I can advise is to drink a few cups of hot peppermint tea. It will help combat the bloat/icky feeling and help your body to process the food out of your system.

When i get 'dosed' with dairy by accident, the cure all tea really helps, and sucking on umeboshi plums. It helps with the gas and indigestioin more than i believed it would initially.

i think ginger tea is very therapeutic. you can buy organic ginger tea or you can grate some fresh ginger and brew it up with hot water. feel better!
