Okay, I've been a carnivore all my life, but have been dairy and meat free now for 4 whole days!!! I read the book and just couldn't stomach the thought of eating all the bad things anymore. I've been getting by on veggies, cereal and restaurant foods. Today I finally had a day off and went to Trader Joe's hoping to find all the yummy ingredients in the Alicia's book. The thing is they didn't have half the stuff there I wanted to try, like satin and brown rice syrup. Does anybody out there live in Los Angeles, west L.A. is where I am, if so can you recommend a better store for me to shop at? Thank you!!! xo s
If you have Wholefoods nearby, it's worth the drive since they have most of the items needed to make the dishes. I work in Orange County and make a trip to Wholefoods at least once a week.
Yes, I know where one is super close! Thanks so much...gonna try to get there Saturday :)
Hi! I am in W. Los Angeles too! This is Day 3 for me sans Meat, Dairy & Eggs too. :) Yeah, TJ didn't have alot of the stuff I was looking for, but I suppose that was expected since I live close to a Whole Foods and the one nearest me was missing quite a few things. This weekend, I'm going to take a trip to an asian market (Japanese to be exact) that I've been meaning to go to to see if they have the rest of the things I'm looking for...
If you're interested, you can visit my blog at www.laurbanmommy.blogspot.com - there you can check out my journey to the kind life...I'm a newbie...more like a "flirt" trying to be "vegan." lol
Good luck and let me know if you come up with anything new in W. LA.
