Why is switching to vegan like switching to a mac?

Something i posted on my vegan switch site:

made you think with that title eh?

A while back when i grew bored with my PC and went to the dark-side, the mac world, i had one simple rule: forget what i knew.

I decided to trust the mac geeks and follow a simple principle: when i had a task to perform, i did not say "ok, i would do it like this on my PC, so how do i do the same action on the mac?".

NO..

I instead asked "How do i accomplish my task on the mac?

Amazing how much smoother that made the transition.

The same holds true for being a vegan. Rather than saying how much i miss cheese on my pizza and how do i get the vegan equivalent, i simply found a fabulous vegan pizza-styled healthy food alternative. It is fabulous.

When you stop comparing, when you realize the health benefits, when you read Alicia and The China Study.... well, then you know better.

For me, switching to vegan has been like traveling to a new place. When you go on vacation, you don't arrive at your destination and spend the whole time missing everything about home. NO WAY! You revel in every new sight, sound, smell, taste and feeling about where you are. You live in the moment and immerse yourself in every new experience. Going vegan has been like making every day a vacation. I am trying out new recipes, new restaurants, new supermarkets. My home town has expanded before my eyes. I even watch new shows on t.v. Check out the Veria channel on cable. They've got vegan cooking shows. I'm connecting with new people as well. It's not about what you left behind, but rather enjoying where you are right now!
